PRIMAL FEAR is one of those movies that I had never gotten around to watching because I had the twist ruined for me years ago. I’ve always heard it was an excellent film, however, so it has been on my radar for a long time. Finally got around to checking it out.
Just broke a streak of ten consecutive 20th century films with the 2006 movie MIAMI VICE. I almost watched something from the 90s just because I had a streak going and I have obsessive compulsive issues. But I’d been wanting to rewatch this movie for awhile, and so that impulse won out.
My nightly movie night in a tent in Maine continues. When I packed up my Jeep to head up, I threw together a box of movies which contained a mix of films I’d been meaning to watch again (like my recent BACK TO THE FUTURE run) and films I had never seen. LAURA is a noir which has been on my shelf for probably close to a decade, but I had never put it on before.
Finished the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy last night. It’s the first time I watched an entire movie trilogy while in a tent. I’m not sure if that means anything. Actually, I’m sure it means nothing.

Arrived in Maine and started to get situated. I left my family behind and came up to try and find a place to live. In the meantime, I am camping out on this island and having a swell time. Can’t say I’m roughing it though. I did watch BACK TO THE FUTURE on my laptop in a tent.
I’m working my last day at the old job later this morning and then driving up to Maine to start my new job tomorrow. So this marks the last post of five and a half years, and exactly 725 rankings, of Rhode Island based movie watching. My next movie ranking will mark the first of (hopefully at least) that many more Maine based rankings. Nothing will change, but I might be a little colder as I write!
Long on my list of movies I am embarrassed to have not seen have been the well-loved films of The Man With No Name Trilogy. Never mind that his name is Joe. They are still well loved! For a long time I didn’t even know what order these movies were in within the series. But I am smarter now, and I’ve seen one of them at least!

My son, who will be 4 in a couple of weeks, has been watching THE IRON GIANT for the last week or so. He asked me to watch it with him tonight “all the way through”, so we did. This is a movie I’ve been meaning to see for years, so I’m glad Quinn finally got me to do it.
It has been a hectic August, to say the least. Haven’t watched much of anything, but needed something mindless for the evening. RAW DEAL is one of the few 80s Schwarzenegger films I had yet to see.
