johnlink ranks DISTURBING BEHAVIOR (1998)

I was up for a short horror flick. I got one. I was expecting a movie which would give me a small number. I got one. But I was also surprised to see that the movie still had some relevance for today’s world.

… Note: this article uses the original systemic formula for creating a ranking. Second note, I think I was very drunk when I watched and reviewed this. Sort of a waste of a review…

DISTURBING BEHAVIOR tells the story of a group of elitists versus some delinquents.

I watched DISTURBING BEHAVIOR (1998) on 8.19.09. It ws my third viewing of the film.

FILM

Surprised to see that this movie so closely mirrors Scientology with the Blue Ribbons mimicking the blue shirted followers of said religion.  Doesn’t make the movie more poignant in its time, but makes it interesting to look back on. SCORE: 5

MOVIE

Fun movie which is better for its deleted scenes. Really, this is a B-movie at 85 minutes. Would be better with the full vision intact. SCORE: 6

ACTING

Sigh. I used to love Katie Holmes pre-Scientology. I wonder what she would be doing now without it. Nick Stahl is good in this too. SCORE: 5

WRITING

Created by some X-FILES guys, this is a film which rewards people who like said genre. The ending is somewhat lame, but the now obvious Scientology references must be commended. SCORE: 5

FINAL TALLY

FILM: 5; MOVIE: 6; ACTING: 5; WRITING: 5

5+6+5+5+0+21

FINAL TALLY: 5.25
