a note on the rankings going forward
At the end of each year I take time to assess the rankings project. There are a couple of minor changes in store for 2011, which will hopefully improve the articles greatly…
First and foremost, I will no longer link every actor to their IMDB page. This is a somewhat time consuming task which I would rather avoid. For example, I don’t think that linking to Matt Damon’s page helped the article about GREEN ZONE.
However, if there is an actor, or especially writer or director, who I’m trying to point out or give a little plug to, I may still link them. And I will always still link the movie’s title and trailer (when available) at the top of the article.
Also, I hope to revisit some movies this year that I’ve previously ranked. I tried to stick, strictly, to unique films in ’09 and ’10. The only film I watched twice AT ALL was The Wrestler, and I didn’t write about it again, because my thoughts on it hadn’t drastically changed. But when I revisit movies (I plan to watch, for example, many Nolan films again this year) I will label them as a ‘re-ranking’ and link to the original article.
All this, I am sure, is amazingly important to the two or three people who read these!
Have a great 2011!
