johnlink bundles his INDIANA JONES rankings
One of the great movie themes of all time, one of the great iconic characters of all time, one of the great blockbuster joys of all time (well except for the second one, and… well… the most recent entry). INDIANA JONES is an odd series to consider. While there is no doubt that RAIDERS is an all time classic, the series is never able to really live up to the original. CRUSADE comes close, but that’s about it. Anyway, that is my thesis. Here is my supporting information…
Scores for FILM; MOVIE; ACTING; WRITING; BONUS (if applicable). Then the average score.
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARC: F:7; M:10; A:7; W:9; B:1 (score); average: 8.5
INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM: F:4; M:5; A:4; W:3; average: 4
INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE: F:6; M:9; A:7; W:9; average: 7.75
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: F:5; M:7; A:5; W:3; average: 5
That’s the kind of flowing data a chart maker would love. Scores all over the place. Junky movie in TEMPLE OF DOOM, all-time classic in RAIDERS. I wonder where a fifth film would fall? I have a hard time believing they would ever recapture the magic of the original, but I suppose they could come close to LAST CRUSADE. Here are the links to my articles:
